The Arrow Pictures documentary series Positive has been nominated for Best Science Documentary at the upcoming, 2022 edition, of the illustrious Grierson awards. This follows the announcement it was shortlisted for the award in July.
The three-part series harnesses intimate testimony exploring tragedies and triumphs of Britain’s 40-year battle with HIV, told by the key players who confronted this terrifying disease. Positive is the definitive and ultimately uplifting story of the disease that changed Britain, from first cases right up to present.
Established in 1972, the Griersons are the biggest event in the UK documentary calendar. The awards recognise and celebrate documentaries from Britain and abroad that have made a significant contribution to the genre and that demonstrate quality, integrity, creativity, originality and overall excellence.
Positive was Arrow Pictures' first commission for Sky and launched last year on World Aids Day.
The Grierson Awards ceremony will take place on the evening of 10 November 2022 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank, London.
