In contrast to its sister series, See No Evil —where CCTV is the central source material— Hear No Evil uses authentic audio that is recorded at the scene of the crime. Each episode features in-the-moment audio recordings captured by the victim’s families, perpetrator’s friends, investigators and even the killers themselves.
While the audio recordings carry the story, first person testimonies, dramatic reconstructions, video archive and bespoke graphics complete the narrative. Initially, only snippets of audio are played—requiring viewers to fill in the details the camera is unable to show. In the final acts, the cohesive audio track reveals the entire sequence of events that ultimately lead to murder.
