A Community’s Fight for the Missing

When Amanda Berry didn’t make it home on April 21st, 2003, the night before her 17th Birthday, her mother knew something was wrong.

She struggled to get help but Bill Safos, a TV reporter believed her, this was no "runaway." With the support of the community, they searched all over Cleveland, Ohio, but almost exactly a year later another girl went missing. Gina DeJesus, 14, disappeared on her way home from school just blocks away. As the families rallied together, they got closer and closer to the house of horrors, the darkness of which no one could have imagined.
